At Vanessa Bell, we choose Merino wool for its rare balance of softness, strength and natural intelligence. It regulates temperature, wears beautifully, and stands the test of time. A fibre of elegance, performance and purpose.

MERINO MASTERY
Elevating Merino: Beyond Ordinary Wool
Merino is nature’s smart fibre. It breathes, insulates and breaks down naturally. We use the best yarns from Italian mills. Our own superfine Merino, grown at Emu Creek, is planned for future collections.
Micron Precision: Softness Defined
Softness can be measured. Our current yarns are 17–19 microns finer than human hair. Emu Creek wool is under 16 microns. That means extra softness, even for sensitive skin.
Crimp & Comfort: Nature’s Engineering
Each fibre has a wave called a crimp. It helps your knitwear stretch, bounce back, and stay in shape. It also keeps you warm or cool by holding air close to the skin.
Comfort: Worn with Ease
Our wool is soft, breathable, and gentle on skin. It stays fresh, resists odour and wrinkles, and even protects against fire and UV. Good for you, good for the planet.

FROM FLEECE TO FASHION
Source to Stitch: The Journey
Our story starts at Emu Creek in NSW, Australia. We grow superfine Merino wool using farming that helps the land and cares for animals. This capsule uses certified Italian-spun wool. In future, we’ll use our own. Every step is careful, from farm to fashion.
Traceable Threads: Every Step Counts
We believe in being open. You should know where your clothes come from and how they’re made. Our wool is certified by RWS and Woolmark. Future pieces will use wool grown on our farm, fully traceable from sheep to stitch.
Italian Artisans: Timeless Craftsmanship
Our knitwear is made in Italy by expert makers Maglificio Pini. They bring years of skill and care. By pairing Australian wool with Italian hands, we honour both land and legacy. Each piece is made to last, with pride and purpose.

EVERYDAY LUXURY
At Vanessa Bell, luxury is part of daily life.
Our knitwear is soft, elegant and made to endure. Designed for comfort and ease, each piece moves with you, from city to country, day to night. True comfort never asks you to compromise. Our customers value quality, simplicity and timeless style that feels as good as it looks.
Timeless Silhouettes & Styling
Our designs are made to last beyond seasons. Each piece is easy to layer, flattering to wear, and finished with care. These are wardrobe staples with quiet strength, chosen by women who know what they stand for.
Living in Knitwear: Versatility & Care
Merino wool suits everyday life. It breathes, stays fresh, and adjusts to temperature. It needs less washing, just air between wears. When needed, hand wash in cool water and dry flat. These gentle steps help your knitwear last longer.
Wardrobe Investments Explained
We make pieces to be worn for years, not just a season. Each garment is made from 100% Merino wool, crafted by skilled hands and certified by Woolmark. This is fashion made with purpose.
Timeless, responsible, and refined.

CRAFTED FOR GENERATIONS
Quality Benchmarks & Testing
We don’t follow trends. We make garments to last. Each piece is tested for strength, shape and comfort; made to be worn, cared for and kept. True quality is our standard.
Repair, Renew, Revive
Caring for your clothes matters. We encourage gentle hand washing, repair, and responsible cleaning with a gentle wool wash. In future, we’ll offer guidance and refresh options to help your knitwear stay beautiful for longer.
Heirloom Potential
Some pieces stay with you. Our designs are made to be loved, re-worn and passed down. They hold memory, warmth and meaning — knitwear to treasure, season after season.
TRANSPARENCY IN ACTION
At Vanessa Bell, transparency guides every choice. From wool grown at Emu Creek to each garment made in Italy, we value clear, responsible practices.

REGENERATIVE FUTURES
Sustainability is not a goal; it’s how we work and think. Our approach is regenerative. We don’t just reduce harm; we restore balance to land and animals.
Animal Welfare
Animal care starts with respect. We follow the Five Domains of welfare: nutrition, environment, health, behaviour and mental state. Our Merino sheep are raised with dignity, sheltered by native trees, and protected from stress raised on a simple mix of fresh air, water and grass.
Farming for Soil Health
At Emu Creek, we use regenerative farming and rotational grazing. This builds healthy soil, encourages strong pastures, and avoids synthetic inputs. Healthy soil supports healthy sheep and strong, beautiful wool.
Biodiversity Projects at Emu Creek
We work with ‘Land For Wildlife’ to restore native vegetation. Trees and corridors give shelter and space to move. These plantings support our sheep and strengthen the land’s natural systems.
Microplastic Counter: Oil Saved In Real Time
Merino wool is 100% natural, biodegradable and renewable. It doesn’t shed harmful fibres into our lands and waterways. As we grow, we’ll share data on oil saved and carbon reduced, showing how small choices lead to lasting impact.
