I recently had the pleasure of joining Di Gillett on the Power Of Women Podcast for a thoughtful conversation about fashion, farming, leadership and the importance of knowing where the things we wear actually come from.
What I appreciated most about this discussion was the opportunity to speak honestly about the journey behind my work, from my years in fashion and media to becoming a superfine Merino wool grower and building a brand grounded in provenance, transparency and natural fibres.
Together we explored topics including:
• Why consumers are increasingly looking for trust, transparency and authenticity
• The challenges many women still face in being heard and recognised in business
• The growing importance of traceability in fashion
• Why natural fibres like Merino wool matter in a world saturated with synthetics
• What it means to build a brand with integrity from farm to finished garment
• Leadership, resilience and backing yourself even when the path is unconventional
My hope is that listeners take away a deeper understanding of the connection between agriculture, fashion and sustainability and perhaps feel encouraged to ask more questions about where their clothing comes from and how it is made.
I also hope the conversation resonates with women navigating reinvention, leadership or building something meaningful in their own way. There is no single path, and often the most rewarding work comes from staying true to your values, even when it challenges convention.
